So, here’s a letter to myself when I received my final year result and my internship was about to begin the very next day…

Hey you,

Oh! What do I say about this crazy world of delusional debacles?
Congratulations! You are finally a doctor amidst all obstacles.

But wait, stop!
Is it just an internship?
No, we’ve got countless priorities on top!

So, let’s get started with those itsy-bitsy plans,
A trip to Goa, or maybe Manali,
And you’ll go on and on with your clans.

And finally, let’s welcome the internship day,
But who’s going to sleep for you after that night shift?
Will you still manage that trip, or would you choose to stay?
Because getting permission is another long-winded rift!

So, that’s how we can check first priority off the list,
What next?
Allow me to provide you with a gist!

Get geared uptight!
You certainly won’t get this one right…
Now’s the high time to drop that people-pleasing fluff,
These people are evil,
Believe me, they will make this year really rough!

I know it’s not easy being you,
I know you’ll get anxious as hell,
Those weird shadows will keep eating up your worth…
But donkey work won’t serve you well,
Just breathe it in and hide it all under that breath,
Don’t let those monsters see, don’t let them smell!

And now, let’s move towards your precious batchmates,
Who were probably born with ruby-laden spoons,
Don’t get annoyed with their exemptions and their boons,
Darling, unlike you, these people can write their own fates.

I apologize beforehand if your favourite department’s posting makes you cry,
But anyway, you are just an intern,
Let’s just wipe those tears,
Let’s assume God’s not that cruel for now,
Let’s just say for the sake of saying…
“There could be something else for you to try.”

Remember the most essential rule,
I may not sound that cool…
But there are no friends here and there are no foes!
Don’t overthink this, or you may lose yourself from head to toes.

And please don’t worry about PG preparation,
Because I am not exactly in a condition to reveal the rest,
I will probably laugh off some day at that stupefying situation,
But anyways there’s still some hope that you’ll do your best!

I hope this letter serves as a marvellous piece of motivation,
After quite an exhausting day,
After several centuries, probably, I am feeling quite proud of my very own creation,
And I really won’t mind even if you choose to craft your own way!
