Hitaishi’s Journey with Lexicon

Hitaishi Thakkar , MBBS Intern and Blogger

In the wake of 2021, as a naive second year MBBS student, I came across lexicon magazine and was amazed by the concept, articles and website! It seemed like the perfect opportunity for a budding medico and blogging enthusiast like me.

A few rounds of interviews later, I got in and it was truly one of the most exhilarating moments of my life; not only did I manage to fulfill my lifelong dream of working as a blogger in a magazine, but also become one of the youngest members of the team.

The founders and the pillars of lexicon magazine Dr Suranjana Ma’am and Dr Raviteja Sir along with the sweetest editor in chief Dr Anushka treated me like their own child and allowed me to nurture, bloom and blog to my heart’s content.

A few blogs and editions later, in 2023, I had the honour of becoming a part of the LexiMeet Committee, the event that was a trendsetter on its own.

Being the marketing manager at LexiMeet conference gave me an immense amount of confidence and it was a learning process in itself. Alongside being the youngest member in the committee, I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and support the team put into me and the encouragement I received kept me going!

As an intern who’s about to graduate MBBS in a couple of months, I’d say lexicon magazine has been a huge part of my medical career and I’m proud to have grown up with the legacy that the magazine is!

Lexicon was never a workplace, it was and is a part of my heart, I’d say it is located in my Sino Atrial node and certainly is an irreplaceable part of my life. It is an absolute honour to have been associated with lexicon all these years, it’s a part of who I am as a person, doctor, and student. It has blossomed me: A young medico into a beautiful freshly bloomed doctor.

Some places just feel like home, they are like a warm hug on a cold winter day,the first sip of tea in the morning, like the sun rays at the horizon, the perfect symphony, and the last piece of a puzzle.

That’s lexicon for me.
