THE JOURNEY IS ALL THAT MATTERS
Dr. Geeta Sundar, Neurosurgery registrar
I’ve come a full circle with Lexicon. In all aspects. And the more I stay on, the more it pulls me in, like never-ending gravity. And I give in, into its free-fall.
As a naïve undergrad at 18 years, talking to Dr. Suranjana Basak with Abhijeet was just a fantasy – I felt like Harry Potter entering the Hogwarts Express and meeting Ron for the first time! Albeit, it was virtual, Dr. Basak had a way of vowing me in many ways. She was so strong, so monitored and so absolutely passionate in her thrill and future for Lexicon.
I grew up admiring her afar, understanding what it makes to make an organization like Lexicon work, and I have to be grateful to what this journey with her has represented for me. No matter the day or the time, or the cross hours I have to work, there is always time for Lexicon. That is my loyalty and my commitment to this wondrous institution.
I have a weird sense of accomplishment, though its perturbed taste is unknown, as I stand and look back at the last fifteen years. There is so much to share, and words won’t be able to do justice…But what hits me the most is the constant feeling of support I have received from everyone who has been a part of this workforce. Year after year, edition after edition, with words, with imagination, with creativity, with freedom, with comradery, the introvert in me has somehow found an outlet for all the bottled-up sentences harboured inside an overly-enthusiastic zealous heart.
And like the waves hug the shore irrespective of light or moon, so does my love for Lexicon and what it stands for. I will go on being its steadfast aide…till I can’t. I hope and wish for Lexicon to have many more such anniversary editions! The journey has been magical, and I can’t wait for another decade filled with enchantment, joy and allure!
